Revelation 3:17-18
“Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.”
The church of Laodicea was a prosperous church. Success was measured by material and financial strength. Is the modern-day church caught in this same situation?
I believe in prosperity and the principle that God can bless you materially, but this whole message can be distorted. God gave His verdict and impressions about this rich church. The standards of heaven are always different.
In the sight of God, they were wretched, miserable, poor, and blind. They were spiritually destitute. They lacked three things, but I will emphasize on one: holiness.
The present-day church is richer, but destitute of holiness. In heaven it is called poverty.
Make a decision today to live a holy life!
