Have you ever been to a place where you saw the word ‘reserved’ on certain seats? It may have been a conference, party, meeting or even a church service. That word means kept for use only by a particular person or group.
1 Peter 3:15
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear”
The word “sanctify” in this verse means separated or reserved for a particular person; and that person is God. God must occupy a special seat in your heart, and that must be reserved and reserved for him and him alone. This means God must be king and the one who controls your life. People mostly displace God and take that seat. Sometimes people use favors, money, manipulation, intimidation, pressure, love and even sometimes religion to dislodge God from the seat so they can control you.
But you are supposed to sanctify God not people. If you are a man pleaser, this will be difficult. You will by all means have to make sacrifices if you want to have a seat reserved for the Lord in your heart. What reason can you offer someone for this stance? Your life is in God’s hands, not men.
Keep the seat of your heart reserved always for the Lord and it shall be well with you!
