One definition of the word “corruption” is to alter from an original state by removing or adding something.
Christmas is a time when we celebrate the birth of one particular person: Christ Jesus. Unfortunately, over time, it’s spiritual significance has been corrupted.
The word “Christ” has been subtly replaced by the word “X,” hence, “Merry ‘Xmas’ ” instead of “Merry Christmas.”
In math, the letter “X” means an unknown quantity. This means everyone is free to define what his “Xmas” is. Some have put money in the “x,” so it has become Merry “Moneymas.” Some have put fornication and adultery in the “x,” so it has become Merry “Sexmas,” and so on.
Now tell me, what kind of Christmas will yours be? Will it be a Merry Christmas; a time to honour God, or it will be a Merry “Xmas,” a time to do what is right in your sight?
