Ecclesiastes 9:3
“The heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.”
Madness is a way of thinking or behavior that is foolish and dangerous. It can be permanent or temporary.
This is because even those who are deemed to be sane can occasionally exhibit foolish and dangerous behavior. This can ruin relationships, destroy potentials, and even cause financial, marital and spiritual problems.
The bible makes us understand that the heart is a source of madness.
The term, heart can be used to describe the invisible parts of you; like your spirit, will and emotions
The Spirit.
It is possible for an evil spirit to take control of your spirit. I have personally cast out unclean spirits from schizophrenic people and seen them healed instantly.
The will.
An unclean spirit for example can take control over your will and drive you to do compulsive things which are destructive but you find hard to resist.
The emotions.
Rage can cause people to be momentarily mad and make them do things they later regret. Some people even kill in a fit of rage.
One way to keep “madness” whether temporary or permanent out of our life is to allow the Spirit of God and the word of God to take control. When we read our bibles and pray we open the door for the Holy Spirit to influence us.
