Leviticus 26:36
“And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.”

One of the things we all have to grapple with is “fear.” It could be fear of failure, heights, the future or even commitment.

There is however, a certain type of fear which is the product of a curse. This type of fear manifests itself as idiopathic fear. The word “idiopathic” means arising from an unknown cause. The verse says, “they shall fall when no man pursueth.” This means they will be afraid without a reason.

Fear can cause you to take hasty decisions. In other words, it can cause you to “run.” Hasty decisions lead to “falling or disastrous consequences.”

I have met people who are pessimistic and fearful about almost everything; “the sound of a shaking leaf terrifies them.” They are afraid of almost anything; from traveling, to eating, to relationships, to even good opportunities.

One way to overcome this type of fear is to walk in obedience to God.

Obedience always attracts the presence of God and His presence will deal with idiopathic fear.
