How To Avoid Shame And Worry! 

Jeremiah 8:9
“The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the Lord; and what wisdom is in them?”

There is a difference between the wisdom of this world and the wisdom of God. The wisdom of the world is derived from our senses; “This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.” In comparison, the wisdom of God is rooted in the word of God and the words of the Holy Spirit. 

In the short run, the wisdom of this world looks powerful but over time it fades and pales in comparison with the Word. When we reject the Word of God and the wisdom that is in it, we become candidates for shame and dismay or worry. 

I have seen people live in shame for rejecting the Word. Some become paupers, drunkards or some fall into serious scandals. 

The next effect is dismay or worry. The world is already full of problems and disobedience to the Word compounds it.
