Acts 22:18
“And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.”
There are many good ideas that are not necessarily God ideas. When good ideas replace God ideas, the result is frustration because of a lack of results. The fact that something is good does not necessarily mean God approves of it.
While praying in the temple in Jerusalem, the Lord appeared to Paul in a trance and told him not to preach the word in Jerusalem, but go far away to the Gentiles to preach the word because his ministry would not be received. Preaching is generally a good thing but in this case, it was not a “God idea”.
I wonder how many people replace God ideas with good ideas when they are choosing a marriage partner or deciding to do a particular business or even serving God in His kingdom.
The only way to discern between good and God ideas is by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Let’s listen to His voice and we shall save ourselves from good intentions that do not yield any results!
