Dear Kakra,
I entered the year without a job but was hopeful that I will land one before the year ended. I wrote countless applications, went for a couple of interviews, wrote aptitude tests and went through other recruitment processes. I got close to being employed by one company but was told that the recruitment process was put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The decision by management was perfectly understandable from an employer’s perspective. I was scheduled for an online prayer and counseling session with Rev Del. It was brief but impactful. Exactly 2 weeks later, a call came through and the person introduced himself and the company he represents. He said I applied for a position, and went further to ask a few follow up questions regarding my CV and the role I am to occupy. He asked when I could start work and I answered. There was no interview. To my amazement, I received my appointment letter the following day.
Indeed, “God’s ways are not our ways”. Amidst the whole Covid-19 trepidation and struggles, whiles some people were laid off, God still gave me a job. It’s been barely five months since I started working there and to the glory of God, I have received a salary raise three times already. This can only be God!
