Isaiah 66:1-2
“Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.”

The word “enable” means to make easy, and “environment” means the circumstances and conditions by which one is surrounded.

Sometimes, I look at some school dropouts and it occurs to me that, had they been in an academically enabling environment, they would have excelled. A positive spiritual environment will make you succeed in life. David waxed greater and greater because of the presence of God. How can you cultivate His presence?

God asked, “Who can accommodate my presence? Heaven is My seat and the earth is my footrest?” Certainly no one can.

He answers that you need three things;

  1. A poor spirit.
    Poor people depend on others for their sustenance. You must depend on God.
  2. A contrite spirit.
    Originally, that word means to “maim” or “wound” seriously. Such people are totally dependent on others. This means to depend totally on God and nothing else.
  3. You must tremble at His Word.
    This means to obey His Word unconditionally.

These things attract His presence!
