2 Peter 3:15 reads, “And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation.”

The word “longsuffering” is an old English word which means “patience.” Sometimes, when you are patient with people, they may mistaken it for weakness and abuse it.

A husband who mistreats his wife verbally, physically, and emotionally may take the wife’s patience for granted. One day, that husband may return home to find that patient woman permanently gone out of his life. That is when the worth of what he has lost will strike him.

God is like that. He is very patient with us in spite of all our stubbornness and wickedness. Some people mistake this for weakness. Scripture tells us, “The long-suffering or patience of God is to give us an opportunity to be saved.” A day is coming when the patience of God will run out.

Now is the time for us to take advantage of the patience of God to repent and be saved before judgement falls!
