Every job you do requires some form of appropriate clothing. For instance, a mechanic cannot put on a suit to work based on his type of job. Likewise a chef has to put on a chef’s clothing etc.
Service to God in the Old Testament required particular types of cloth.
Exodus 39:1
“And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the Lord commanded Moses.”
God required his priests to wear the following cloths; blue, purple and scarlet. What is their symbolism to us?
Blue is the color of the sky or heaven which means we must be godly or exhibit godly characteristics like forgiveness, love, etc in our service.
Scarlet is a deep red color. Blood is red and it stands for sacrifice. You cannot serve God if you are not prepared to sacrifice.
Purple is a mixture of red and blue. This symbolizes a mixture of godliness and sacrifice. What does this mean? I believe it means, it takes grace from God to be godly and be able to bear certain sacrifices and pain we may have to bear.
Be assured that His grace is sufficient for you.
