I have many nice tea cups in my house, but there is a particular cup I use every morning. It is not the biggest or nicest, but I choose it for no reason.

When Paul was chosen by the lord, Ananias, an older Christian protested. Let’s examine his protest.

Acts 9:13-15

“Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.” But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.”

Why did Ananias protest? Let’s examine it.

1. His History.

He felt Paul did not deserve it. He said, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done.”

2. His Current Status.

Paul was at this time busily persecuting Jesus.

Sometimes, because of your history and status, someone may think that you don’t deserve to marry a particular person, occupy a certain position or be used by God; based on your race, gender or age.

However, God has an answer for such people. “This man is my chosen instrument.”

God can use you for His glory if you yield yourself to Him.Don’t give up on yourself, because God has not given up on you!
