There are people we meet who are supposed to be our spouses; some employers; some spiritual fathers and the list goes on. Our ability to discern the role of each individual is critical because it will determine how we relate to them and what we should expect from them. This helps us to avoid frustrations because you can expect your wife to treat you like your mum, forgetting she is not your mum but your wife. You may be demanding from her something she cannot supply. There are people God puts in our lives to comfort us in times of discouragement. One way the Holy Spirit comforts us is through people. Who is your Titus? He could be a friend, a colleague or a particular pastor who encourages you the most. The great Paul discerned and sent for his Titus. There are different types of faith; we have the faith of Abraham and we also have the faith of Jesus. Each faith type represents certain qualities about the faith of the person who exercised it. Let’s examine an aspect of the faith of Jesus. James 2:1 ​”My brethren, have not faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.” The faith of Jesus does not respect persons. What does this mean? Most of the time our faith is limited by what we see in the natural. Just yesterday, I was speaking with a businessman who had powerful political enemies who wanted to derail his business. He could not see anyway out of the situation because in the natural all was against him. I told him prayer and faith in God could turn the situation around and defeat his enemies. I was urging him to exercise “the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ”. The kind of faith which has no respect for circumstances and regards only the power of God. Are you sick or in debt? Do you have a serious marital problem or is s your business collapsing? Are you oppressed by demons or you are an unbeliever? You can choose to exercise the faith of Jesus. Do not respect the circumstance but rather respect the power of God. Our God is awesome he...

Serving God can be dangerous; because righteousness can make you a target of the wicked and even religious people may target you. Jesus was not crucified by sinners, he was crucified by religious people. Genesis 40:15 “For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon” Joseph was victimized because of righteousness. His own brothers sold him into slavery because he refused to partake of their evil deeds but rather reported them. Pharoah’s wife accused him of rape because he refused to have an affair with her. He found himself in slavery and prison for all the wrong reasons. Sometimes as Christians, our good can be rewarded with evil. You can help someone and he adversely can begin to hate you for that. You can be victimized in your office because you are holy. You can lend money to someone and the person can turn into an enemy because he does not want to pay. When we find ourselves in situations like that, we should continue to reward evil with good because scripture says; do not be overcome with evil but overcome evil with good.
