1 Kings 4:33-34
“And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes. Men came from all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.”
God blessed Solomon with great wisdom. I find the composition of this wisdom interesting. It did not only comprise spiritual knowledge, it included scientific knowledge of animals and nature.
Knowledge is an aspect of wisdom and it seems knowledge of science, economics, history etc is important for the expression of wisdom. The major source of wisdom however is God’s word.
As we strive to operate in wisdom, let us add other forms of knowledge to make our wisdom effective. Business people should know about the principles that govern it. Sportsmen should know about sports science, farmers should know about modern farming methods to be very successful.
