1 Peter 3:15
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts.”

There are special seats that are reserved for particular people depending on the context. For example, the pilot of a plane has a special seat that no passenger can sit in. This is because of the specialized function he performs. In a courtroom, the judge has a special seat from which he or she pronounces judgement. Any ordinary person who sits in that seat will be guilty of contempt.

To sanctify means to set apart. God must be given a special seat in your life that no human can occupy. This seat is in our hearts; the source of all that we do.

All the actions, thoughts and emotions of men proceed from their hearts. It is the steering wheel of our lives. Sometimes, money, people, sex, drugs, pastors or even religion may try to usurp this seat but we must never allow anything to sit on the seat reserved for God.

We must not elevate anyone or anything above the word of God. We must be prepared to defend this seat against all intruders. When God takes His rightful seat we will obey and serve him all the days of our lives.

Is God seated in your heart or he has been removed? Make sure to elevate his word above all else and he will be seated in your heart. After all the Word is God.
