Isaiah 53:2
“For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.”

Jesus was born under very difficult conditions; He was born in a manger. He was born to a poor family and was neither a ruler, scribe, nor Pharisee. He was an ordinary carpenter’s son. Although He was born “small,” He did not remain small; He grew.

Any small thing can grow big. A small ministry can grow into a big one; a small job, business, or undertaking can grow into a big one. One way to do this is to do what Jesus did; He grew up before God. What does this mean? It means He allowed God to lead and direct Him.

One day, I decided to teach my sons how to cycle on the streets. I made them go before me whilst I rode behind them. As we rode, I kept instructing them, “Pause; move to the left; you are approaching a junction; wait; etc.” I was teaching them to grow up.

Make sure you listen to the commands of your heavenly Father, who is right behind you, giving you instructions through His Word and Spirit. Anything you touch is bound to grow!
