Every Christian is supposed to be a teacher of God’s word. As Christians, we are supposed to share our faith with others by preaching to them. Jesus said “go ye into all the word and preach the gospel”. The scrIpture also enjoins parents to teach their kids the bible.
In the book of Hebrews, we are also instructed to grow spiritually to the point where we are able to teach others the word. In counseling people, we are supposed to preach the word not our opinions. What can you do to be able to teach the word with clarity and power?
“My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart:and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.”
You must develop an upright heart. This means a pure or sincere heart. When we are truthful and sincere, our words will resonate with people both mentally and spiritually. People can tell when you are faking something and when you are authentic.
An upright heart is also a heart that speaks from the viewpoint of experience not just theory. When you have experienced what you are talking about, your words become practical and understandable. The result will be “clarity”. Your words will be easy to understand. When you don’t understand something yourself it’s difficult to explain it to others.
Develop an upright heart and be a great teacher of the word.
