“And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days:
so the days of weeping [and] mourning for Moses were ended.”
Sometimes as Christians we try to act as “supermen.” In times of adversity and mourning, we try to portray a “spiritual macho exterior.” People may be impressed, but God is not impressed.
When we have been through a difficult divorce, failure, or the loss of a loved one or that of a job, God expects us to set aside some time for mourning. This period is necessary as it allows the soul to heal.
However, it is important to note that this period is not indefinite!
God allowed Israel to mourn thirty days for Moses. Are you in a time of mourning? Feel free to do so, but remember, you have thirty days to get over it!
