The temptation to give up on our dreams become great when we encounter obstacles, problems and enemies. Nehemiah had a vision to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem but he faced opposition and enemies. Anytime you want to achieve your vision be assured that your enemies in the natural and spiritual realm will fight against you. Nehemiah told Israel the key to winning the battle was mental strength.
“And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.”
Without mental toughness you can have everything yet lose the battles of life. This verse shows us how to be mentally strong.
- Remember God: “Remember The Lord”. In times of crisis you must remember the power of God. You must remember past testimonies of deliverance and the word of God and it will energize you. Are you sick? Remember, God has healed other people. Are you lonely? Remember, God can bless you with a spouse. Are you unemployed? remember, God has given you a job before.
- Remember what’s at stake: you are fighting for yourself, brother, sister, husband, children, job, health, finances and future. There is a lot at stake that is why you must rise up and fight. You cannot be tired. Stand up and fight.
Don’t give up, be mentally strong and win the battles of life!
