Every man must know how to treat his woman. This has to be determined by the Word not what we think. Let’s look at one scripture and glean some lessons.
“Even the most gentle and sensitive man among you will have no compassion on his own brother or the wife he loves or his surviving children.”
How should husbands treat their wives?
- Be gentle.
The opposite of gentle is violent and rough. Husbands must not abuse their wives; verbally, emotionally or physically.
- Be sensitive.
This means, to be aware and understand your wife’s needs, problems, and feelings.
Some men dismiss their wife’s feelings as flimsy, but we must understand our needs are different.
- Be compassionate.
This means to feel the suffering of others.
Until you place yourself in your wife’s shoes, you may not understand her.
Example: Some men complain their wives are jealous and insecure when they see them have a close relationship with another woman. Ironically, these same men cannot stand it if their wives were to do the same with another man. Looks like a double standard to me. Do unto others what you want others to do to you. That’s the royal law.
- Be obedient to God’s word.
Husbands who live in disobedience to God’s word will come under the curse of “having no compassion.” They will develop a cold heart.
